Sentiment & Feedback Analysis for Instagram & TikTok
ChattyFlow team · Updated
Your comments already hold your customer research. ChattyFlow's AI reads them in Arabic, French or English, in dialect, Arabizi or emoji, and returns the mood, the recurring themes and the feedback worth acting on, with no names attached. Included in Growth plans (4 to 6 analyses a week); not on Free.
What one analysis gives you
Sentiment & Feedback Analysis reads the public comments under one Instagram post or Reel, or one TikTok video, and turns them into a short report. It is part of the Growth plans: 4 analyses a week on Growth 20 and Growth 75, 6 on Growth 150, and no weekly cap on Business. The Free plan does not include it.
- The mood split: the share of positive, neutral and negative comments, always adding up to 100%.
- The verdict: Mostly happy when positive is at least 20 points ahead of negative, Mostly unhappy when negative is 20 points ahead, and Mixed feelings in between.
- Up to three common themes, each with its approximate share of the comments.
- What commenters are saying: a short, factual recap that reuses their own key words.
- Constructive feedback: what people asked for or criticised, rephrased politely at group level, with no names.
- The change since the last run, so you can see whether a post is warming up or cooling down.
How comments are read: examples in Arabic, French and English
The reading is done by an AI language model, not a keyword list. Its instructions name Arabic, French, English, Tunisian Arabizi (Arabic typed in Latin letters and numbers), mixed and transliterated text and emoji-heavy comments, and ask it to understand them all and to treat every language equally. This is how typical comments count:
| Comment | What it says | How it counts |
|---|---|---|
| 😍😍😍 | Emoji only | Positive. Emoji are read as feeling, and repeated emoji as a stronger one. |
| Magnifique, je commande 🔥 | French: "Gorgeous, I'm ordering" | Positive. |
| بكم؟ | "How much?" (Modern Standard and Gulf Arabic) | Neutral: a question, not a mood. |
| بكام الطقم ده؟ | "How much is this set?" (Egyptian) | Neutral question. |
| قديش سعرها؟ | "How much is it?" (Levantine) | Neutral question. |
| شكد السعر؟ | "What's the price?" (Iraqi) | Neutral question. |
| bkam? 🤔 | "How much?" in Arabizi | Neutral: 🤔 reads as a question. |
| prix svp | French: "Price, please" | Neutral question. |
| 3andkom livraison l sfax? | Tunisian Arabizi: "Do you deliver to Sfax?" | Neutral question about delivery. |
| Why is the price always in DM? 🙄 | A complaint about hidden prices | Negative, and possible constructive feedback. |
| وصلني الطلب ناقص 😡 | "My order arrived incomplete" | Negative, and a delivery problem to fix. |
What a wall of "how much?" comments tells you
Many sellers answer price questions with "DM for price". The analysis shows what that habit produces in your comments, in three ways.
Price questions are interest, not mood. A Reel where most comments ask بكم, bkam or prix can come out as Mixed feelings even when nobody is unhappy. Read the themes before the verdict: a large price-questions theme is demand.
Your own replies are left out. Every comment written by your account, including the public replies ChattyFlow posts for you (such as "Sent you a DM"), is removed before the analysis, so your "DM for price" answers never pad the positive or neutral share.
Friction becomes feedback. When people write "why not just post the price?" or "حطوا السعر", that is criticism in their own words: it counts as negative and can come back under Constructive feedback as an anonymous request to show prices.
What to do about it: answer every price question privately, and fast. On Instagram, a Comment-to-DM automation sends the price as a private reply; Meta allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days of the comment. On TikTok, a comment can open a DM only for accounts in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia; elsewhere, reply publicly and invite people to message you. To see which individual commenters are close to buying, lead scoring in the AI Lead Engine adds 8 points when someone asks about price.
Only what people really wrote
The recap and the constructive feedback are summaries, so both are checked against the comments. Each is kept only when the model quotes a fragment that really appears in the comments it read, in the original language and script; otherwise that part stays empty instead of being invented. Emoji-only quotes are checked the same way.
The recap sticks to what is literally written: no guessed intent, no advice. The feedback is limited to what commenters themselves asked for or criticised; the tool does not add recommendations of its own.
If the model calls a post almost entirely neutral while its emoji clearly lean one way, the split is taken from the emoji instead, so a thread of 😍 is not flattened into "no opinion".
Private conversations, on Instagram
Comments are public; the most honest feedback often arrives in private. On Instagram, switch on Capture feedback for a Comment-to-DM or DM-to-DM automation. Only the messages people send after that automation starts a conversation are collected, and a report appears once there are at least 3 of them from the last 7 days.
Raw message text is deleted within 24 hours, and only anonymous, aggregated results are kept. Only the message texts are sent to the AI, never usernames or account IDs. A feedback report uses one of your weekly analyses. Private-conversation feedback is not available for TikTok.
Plans, weekly analyses and refreshes
Your analyses reset every Monday, and unused ones do not carry over. A run that finds nothing to analyse, or fails on our side, is given back automatically.
Once a post has been analysed, ChattyFlow refreshes it on its own when at least 7 days have passed and new comments have arrived. You can switch Auto-analysis off for any post.
| Plan | Analyses per week |
|---|---|
| Free | Not included |
| Growth 20 | 4 |
| Growth 75 | 4 |
| Growth 150 | 6 |
| Business | No weekly cap |
What sentiment analysis gives your business
Mood at a glance
A positive / neutral / negative split for each post, Reel or video, with a verdict: Mostly happy, Mixed feelings or Mostly unhappy.
The gist, in plain words
A short, factual recap of what people are saying, kept only when it can be traced back to their own words.
Constructive feedback only
The requests and criticism commenters actually wrote, rephrased politely and anonymously. If there is nothing useful, the section stays empty.
Privacy first
Only the text of comments is analysed, without usernames or profile data, and private messages are deleted within 24 hours.
How it works
- Connect your Instagram or TikTok account to ChattyFlow on a Growth plan.
- Open Sentiment Analysis and pick a post, Reel or video that has comments. It does not need an automation.
- Run the analysis. Each run uses one of your weekly analyses, and a run that finds nothing to read is given back.
- On Instagram, switch on Capture feedback for a Comment-to-DM or DM-to-DM automation to read private replies too.
- Read the mood split, the themes, the recap and the constructive feedback in English, French or Arabic. The post then refreshes by itself when new comments arrive, at most once every 7 days.
Why businesses use it
- Spot a product or delivery problem before it turns into refunds.
- See which questions people keep asking (price, sizes, delivery) and answer them in your next automation.
- Compare how different posts and offers land with your audience.
- Replace guesswork with the feedback you already receive.
- Public comments on Instagram and TikTok, and private replies on Instagram, in one dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
What is sentiment analysis on Instagram and TikTok?
An automated read of the comments under a post, Reel or video that tells you how positive, neutral or negative the reaction is, what people keep talking about, and what they are asking you to change.
Does it understand Arabic dialects and Arabizi?
It is built to. The analysis uses an AI language model instructed to read any language or script, including Arabic dialects, Arabizi such as "bkam" or "3andkom", French, English and emoji. Results come back in your dashboard language: English, French or Arabic.
Does it use my followers' personal data?
No. Only the text of comments is analysed, without usernames or profile data, and feedback is aggregated and de-identified. For private conversations on Instagram, raw messages are deleted within 24 hours.
How often does the analysis run?
You run it once on a post. After that, ChattyFlow refreshes it automatically when at least 7 days have passed and new comments have arrived. You can switch auto-analysis off for any post.
What if there aren't enough comments?
A post or video with no comments can't be analysed and its button stays disabled. If a run finds nothing to analyse, your weekly analysis is given back.
Does it tell me who wants to buy?
Not person by person: sentiment describes the whole post. To rank individual people, use lead scoring in the AI Lead Engine, where asking about price adds 8 points to that person's score.
Is it included in the free plan?
No. The Free plan has no analyses. Growth 20 and Growth 75 include 4 a week, Growth 150 includes 6, and Business has no weekly cap.
