What a business can automate on TikTok with ChattyFlow, by region

Automation names match the ChattyFlow dashboard:

• Comment replies: public replies to keyword comments, or to every comment, including your saved answers to common questions. Comment surveys work the same way. Comments are checked in rotation, every minute across all active automations, and replies wait 10 to 30 seconds, so a reply lands within a few minutes.

Why a comment can't open a DM outside Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia

TikTok forbids a business from starting a conversation with anyone who has not messaged it first, and a comment is not a message.

The exception is TikTok's Comment-to-Message feature: TikTok's own system flags high-intent comments, such as someone asking to buy, and the business may answer those by DM. TikTok limits it to Business Accounts registered in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, so ChattyFlow shows Comment → DM only there.

Elsewhere, where DM auto-replies are allowed, Comment to Trigger goes as far as TikTok permits. You can also share your tiktok.me/yourusername link, which opens a chat with your account. TikTok lets you pre-fill the first message (mobile app only), so pre-fill your DM keyword.

Why sources disagree about the United States

Some messaging platforms list the US as excluded; others name only the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. TikTok's own overview says the Business Messaging API is in open beta in North America.

TikTok's access rules explain why. For Business Accounts signed up in the US, only developers who have passed an extra US data security review and signed a US addendum may use the API, so the answer depends on the tool, not just the country. TikTok even suggests that integrations list every country except the US, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK until they pass that review.

Not the same thing: TikTok's own auto-messages and DM ads

Two TikTok features are often confused with DM automation tools:

• TikTok's built-in automatic messages: a welcome message, keyword replies, suggested questions and chat prompts, set up in the TikTok app or in Business Center, for accounts with Advanced Access and Verified Business Accounts. They work inside the chat; none of them reacts to a comment.
• Direct Messaging Ads: paid ads that invite viewers to message you. Their Leads optimization goal requires both the ad account and the targeted countries to be in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand or Vietnam.

What to do if you are in a blocked country

If your TikTok Business Account was signed up in the US, the EEA, Switzerland or the UK, ChattyFlow cannot automate its TikTok DMs, on any plan. What still works:

• Public comment replies on TikTok. Answer keyword comments with your saved answers (price, sizes, delivery) and make each reply complete, since no DM can follow it. Comment surveys work too.
• Instagram comment-to-DM, worldwide. Meta's official API lets a business answer a comment with a private message, so a keyword comment can get the link or the price privately.
• Your website chat. On a Growth plan, ChattyFlow's AI chat answers visitors on your own website, and TikTok's country rules do not apply to it.

DM auto-replies: most countries

With ChattyFlow, every country except the US, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. The limit comes from TikTok's Business Messaging API (see the US note below).

Comment to DM: three countries

TikTok opens comment-to-DM only to Business Accounts registered in Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. Elsewhere, people must message you first.

Comment replies: every country

Public replies to comments and comment surveys work wherever TikTok does, including the US and Europe.

Is TikTok DM automation available in the United States?

Not with ChattyFlow. For US accounts, TikTok opens its Business Messaging API only to developers who pass an extra US data security review, so tools disagree. ChattyFlow treats the US as excluded until TikTok confirms otherwise. Comment replies still work.

Can I automate TikTok DMs in France, Germany or elsewhere in the EU?

No. TikTok's Business Messaging API is not available for Business Accounts signed up in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK, whatever the tool. Public comment replies still work.

Can a TikTok comment trigger a DM in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt or Morocco?

No. TikTok limits comment-to-DM to Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. In those four countries, DM auto-replies work, and Comment to Trigger sends your content once the commenter writes to you.

Does my location or my account's country decide?

For TikTok, the country where the Business Account was signed up, not the country you use it from.

Are TikTok's built-in auto-replies limited by country?

TikTok's help page lists no country limit for its automatic messages. They are limited to accounts with Advanced Access and Verified Business Accounts, and none of them fires from a comment.
