AI chat for your website that captures leads and speaks when interest shows

ChattyFlow team · Updated

Flow is ChattyFlow's AI chat for your own website. It answers from the same knowledge base as your Instagram DM agent, asks permission before taking contact details, and can start the conversation when a visitor's attention shows real interest, never on a timer. It needs a Growth plan or the 14-day trial and a verified website, and in the EU, the UK, Switzerland and Canada visitors are asked before their visit is tied to them.

What Flow is, and its limits

Flow is the chat widget ChattyFlow adds to your website: one product, one snippet. It uses the same knowledge base and agent as your Instagram DMs, plays a verified video when one answers the question, and otherwise replies in text, in the visitor's language. Flow Plus, an option inside it, gives a block of your page its own short video. Every panel says the visitor is talking to an AI assistant (EU AI Act, Article 50).

How Flow captures a lead

Any conversation in which a visitor writes becomes a lead, scored and listed with your Instagram leads. Details are then taken the same way every time:

  • Permission first: Flow asks before collecting anything, and its opening lines are written not to ask for contact details.
  • One detail at a time: full name, then an email or a WhatsApp number (the visitor's choice), each read back to confirm. Nothing unconfirmed is saved.
  • An email alert: once details are confirmed, you get the contact, the page and the conversation by email.
  • A person when needed: Talk to a person appears when the visitor asks, sounds frustrated or unhappy, or gets two missed answers in a row; your team gets the conversation by email and replies directly.

Proactive chat triggers: attention, not a timer

With attention tracking on, a small reader notes which blocks a visitor holds, how far they scroll, what they click, and acts that show a decision, such as copying a price. At each such moment ChattyFlow's server decides whether to speak, weighing what the block is for (a price table counts, a footer never does), whether your knowledge base covers it, and how long visits to that page usually last. There is no timer; the only floor is five seconds of real attention.

Flow never opens over your page. The chat button bounces and one short line appears beside it, grounded in your material or the page on screen and ending with one question. It makes at most two approaches per half hour, never two on one page, never while the visitor types, and leaves one visit in ten alone to measure the effect. One switch turns approaches off.

Trigger recipes: what Flow notices, what to prepare

No if-then rules to write: Flow judges the moment, and you prepare what it says.

Consent by region, decided from the visitor's time zone

The widget sends the browser's time zone (Africa/Tunis, Europe/Paris…); ChattyFlow picks the consent rule from it and never stores it.

Refusals are honoured: the Stop tracking link (kept six months on that device, for all ChattyFlow widgets), a CookieYes Reject, or window.chattyflowWithdrawConsent(); stopping deletes the visit so far. Keystrokes, form values, screenshots and cursor trails are never recorded.

Visitor's time zoneWhat Flow does
Any European zone (UK and Switzerland included), Canada, EU overseas regions, or unknownAsks first. Until then, the visit is read anonymously under a key held in page memory, never stored on the device
Elsewhere, for example Tunisia, Morocco, the Gulf or the USReads the visit at once and shows a Stop tracking link in the chat

Installing Flow: the snippet and domain verification

Paste the line from your dashboard before </body> on every page. It looks like this: <script src="…" data-bot="YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" data-api="…"></script>

The key is public, so Flow answers only on sites you have proved are yours: add your site (https only), click Check now, and ChattyFlow looks for your key on the homepage. It also accepts:

Proving www.yoursite.com also proves yoursite.com. With a cookie banner other than CookieYes, call window.chattyflowGrantConsent() when the visitor accepts.

  • a meta tag in the homepage head: <meta name="chattyflow-bot" content="YOUR_KEY">
  • a file at /chattyflow.txt or /.well-known/chattyflow.txt containing the key
  • a DNS TXT record: chattyflow-bot=YOUR_KEY

The plan Flow needs

Flow comes with the AI Lead Social Engine, in every Growth plan, Business and the 14-day trial, not in Free. If a plan lapses, Flow leaves your site by itself and returns with the plan.

Each conversation where a visitor writes counts toward the monthly lead allowance; beyond it, new leads are held back until you upgrade. Prices show in USD, EUR or TND.

Website chat vs Instagram DM vs WhatsApp: where to qualify leads

Qualify leads where the question is asked. ChattyFlow automates two of these three channels today.

In practice: start on Instagram, answer comparing questions with Flow, and move to WhatsApp only after the person gives their number and opts in, as WhatsApp's policy requires.

What Flow does

Answers from your own material

Same knowledge base and agent as your Instagram DMs: a verified video when one fits, text otherwise, in the visitor's language.

Speaks when interest shows

It reads which parts of a page hold attention and opens with one grounded line at a real moment.

Takes details with permission

It asks first, reads each detail back to confirm, and emails you when a lead is captured.

Set up Flow in five steps

  1. Build your knowledge base from your website, documents and notes.
  2. Create your Flow: name, greeting, starter questions, colour, logo, and the person and email that hand-overs go to.
  3. Paste the snippet before </body> on every page of your site.
  4. Add your website and click Check now to verify it.
  5. Try Flow in the dashboard, then choose your privacy setting and whether Flow may start conversations.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flow the same as the chat widget?

Yes. Flow is the website chat you install with one snippet; Flow Plus adds short videos to page blocks inside it. The FAQs Engine, which replaces a static FAQ section, is a separate block.

Does Flow pop up on its own?

No. It never opens its panel by itself: at a real moment the chat button bounces with one line beside it, and the visitor decides. You can switch approaches off.

Where do the proactive openings come from?

From your knowledge base and the words on the visitor's screen. If nothing you published covers what they were viewing, Flow asks a question instead of making a claim and logs the gap.

What if Flow cannot answer a question?

It says so instead of guessing, logs the question and, after two misses in a row, offers a person. By default, a question asked three times earns a suggestion to record a video answer.

Which languages does Flow speak?

It replies in the language the visitor writes in; buttons come in English, French and Arabic, right-to-left for Arabic. Voice messages are transcribed, then deleted.
